The user-generated and -edited online encyclopedia—which doesn't even require contributors to register—somehow holds its own against the Encyclopedia Britannica in accuracy, a Nature study concluded, and has many times more entries. But even though people are catching up to the idea that Wikipedia is a force for good, there are still huge misconceptions about what makes the encyclopedia tick. While Wikipedia does show the creative potential of online communities, it's a mistake to assume the site owes its success to the wisdom of the online crowd. Só existe auto-formação, pois ela “...passa-se na nossa “cabeça” e lá só nós é que controlamos...”. Quem é o professor ? É quem nos faz saber os conhecimentos. Quando a “maçã ensinou” ao Newton a gravidade, ela transformou-se num Professor ?? As crianças têm más notas em informática, mas em casa são uns experts em jogos e na Internet. Os adultos não aprendem nos cursos de formação profissional mas conseguem montar os moveis da IKEA. Os bebés passam todas as horas em que estão acordados a aprender “coisas”, depois não gostam de aprender. O que lhes fizemos ??? Os jovens não estão motivados para aprender ou para ir à escola, ou estão motivados para não aprender e para não ir à escola??
